Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Program, Qingdao University

Qingdao University first started to accept the Clinical Medicine (MBBS) program international student in 2006. It is one of 30 universities qualified by the State Education Commission to accept Clinical Medicine (MBBS) international students using English as a medium program.  Now there are about 120 international students studying Clinical Medicine (MBBS) Program at Qingdao University. Most of them come from India.

1. about the Medical College of Qingdao University

 Clinical Medicine (MBBS) education is mainly taught at the Medical College of Qingdao University.

Qingdao University Medical College is one of the colleges accredited to grant Master’s degrees by the State Council. Founded in 1946, it was named National Shandong University Medical College. In 1956, it was built separately and named Qingdao Medical College.  In 1993, it was merged with three other major universities and named Qingdao University Medical College.

The Medical College of Qingdao University is composed of the Basic Medical College, the College of Nursing, the College of Public Hygiene, the Stomotology Department, the Pharmacy Department, and the Biology Department. The college covers 9 undergraduate majors including Clinical Medicine, Medical Imaging, Stomotology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Preventive Medicine, Biological Technology, as well as Food Science and Engineering. It runs 6 doctoral programs; 4 first-level masters’ programs including Basic Medical, Clinical Medical Biology and Stomotology; and 45 second-level master’s programs. Current enrollment totals over 5500 students, of whom 3205 are undergraduates, 852 are postgraduates, 40 are doctors and over 1500 are students from continuing education. With 600 teachers and faculties ranking includes 69 full professors, 105 associate professors and 401 visiting professors. The College runs 6 affiliated hospitals and 11 teaching hospitals including 7 “Third-class prime level” hospitals and 16000 wards for teaching and internships.    

The Medical College of Qingdao University rapidly improves research. Presently, it has 1 Provincial Research Center; 6 research institutions; 8 prime academic laboratories of the Provincial Education Department; 9 prime academic laboratories of the Provincial Hygienic Department; and 52 Research offices for basic and clinical teaching.

The college is experiencing broad development in international exchange and cooperation. It has established partnerships with several universities and colleges in many countries and regions, including the USA, Britain, Germany, Japan, Korea, France, Belgium, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

4. about Living Environment

Accommodation our aim is to offer you a range of options to suit both your budget and expectations.

Students are expected to live in the International Students Dormitory, where single and double rooms are available.

Every room is equipped with central heating facilities and a telephone set. Rooms have private shower bath and toilet; all rooms are installed with air-conditioners. E-mail terminal, public kitchens and washing machines are also accessible to students in the dormitory.

A dining-hall is adjacent to the International Students Dorm, where one can have very nice meals at the fairish cost per day. The University has also on all its campuses convenient and inexpensive canteens where a good variety of Indian and Western foods are served.

We have Indian cook to give you real taste of Indian food.

Every campus of Qingdao University has a clinic, where international students can get medical service at low cost.

On campus there are a lot of sports and recreational places as well as diversified student clubs for extracurricular activities.

The University campuses enjoy tranquil and convenient surroundings. All kinds of daily necessities are provided in the off-campus supermarkets at low price. Post offices and banks are all near the main gate of each campus. Bus routes connect all campuses with downtown, scenic spots and the train station.

5. Admission Eligibility

To be eligible for selection to the undergraduate medical course, a candidate should have:

1.Completed 17 years of age and Completed 10+2 years of  education, “A”&”O” levels or Intermediate of Science or equivalent with English, Biology ,Physics and Chemistry as main subjects and he/she must have passed in all the subjects mentioned above, securing not less than 60%.
